What is a Co Op?

 
 
 

The Sturbridge Nursery School is a cooperative experience where parent/guardian involvement is crucial to the success of the school. All parents/guardians are scheduled to volunteer within the classroom each year.  Parents/guardians also help maintain the building and grounds throughout the year. Greater caregiver involvement allows parents/guardians to share in and add to their child's preschool experience and allows the children to see that their education is an important part of family life.

 

Our Teachers

 
 

Deb Morin, Director, Lead Teacher

Deb Morin was born and raised in Sturbridge and now lives with her husband in Brimfield. From a very young age she wanted to become a teacher. After her two daughters entered the local school system, Deb began her Early Education career in 1982 as a teacher at the Brimfield Co-op Nursery School. In 1985, when a position at the Sturbridge Co-op Nursery School opened, Deb began teaching at the school. In 2000, she took on the roles of Director and Lead Teacher. Deb is licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) and is CPR and first aid certified. 

 

Patti Shine, Lead Teacher 

Patti Shine lives in Sturbridge with her husband and has two sons. Her interest in Early Childhood Education began in high school, during which time she worked at various daycares throughout the Worcester area. After college graduation, Patti continued her career in Early Education until the birth of her first son. She has been involved in many volunteer activities with her two sons, including serving on the Pop Warner football board for eight years. Patti began teaching at the Sturbridge Cooperative Nursery School in 2002, she is licensed by the EEC and is first aid certified.
